VEGAN KEFIR MADE FORM COCONUT WATER AND BEET ROOT FOR INNER AND OUTER BEAUTY Thinking about Kefir most of us have the Turkish yoghurt version in mind. Here the good news for all plant based Kefir lovers - the Kefir mushroom can grow in a water-base also and can therefor be made vegan. Kefir helps to increases the gut health, balances the mood and strengthens the immune system. Once you have your own Kefir bacteria grains you can get really creative with the mixtures. Here is my favorite Kefir recipe for you, made from Beet Root Juice and Coconut Water.
COCONUT WATER IS GOOD FOR ATHLETES
Coconut water is alkaline and contains lots of electrolytes, which is great for everybody who works out a lot. I like to use the organic and fair traded coconut water from COCOWELL.
BEET ROOT IS GOOD FOR WOMEN
I love beet-root! The color of this plant amazes me and if you look at its health benefits it is extremely powerful, especially for women who suffer from anemia. The juice is full of Vitamin C, Vitamin A and Calcium. Beet root has grounding abilities, therefor it helps if we are nervous and anxious.
GET YOUR KEFIR GRAINS
All you need is the Kefir Mushroom, which you can by in local health shops or online. Make sure you purchase the vegan - water-based grains and not the milk kefir grains.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO
The making is super simple - pure 0,75ml of red beet juice 0,75ml of coconut water in a jar
- add 2 table spoons of coconut sugar (not worries!!! the sugar will be eaten by the Kefir-bacterias) - cover the jar with a kitchen cloth and put in dark and warm spot - leave the jar and the bacterias working for 3 days- take a plastic strainer and strain the bacteria from the Kefir
- don't use a metal strainer or cutlery with the mushroom - keep the Kefir cool and consume within 5 days
